Favourite Beauty Products of 2010

2010 is O-V-E-R! Lets re-cap on some great products I was obsessed with!
[Disclaimer: All items mentioned were purchased by me]

• Got 2b Hairspray
This hairspray is the most amazing one I've ever used! I'm not a fan of sticky, hard-as-a-rock, mega hold fixing sprays! I just need a nice light, weightless holding spray that leaves my hair still touchable. This one does that! I guess it's the "cashmere" that's in it! AND, the best part of all; it smells like CANDY! Literally. It's so lovely. Best hairspray ever. Perfect for baby hairs, stray hairs, etc.

 • Escada - Taj Sunset
Ok, so yes, I just got this perfume for Christmas, but it's been my absolute favourite and I can't get enough of it!!! I'm a HUGE Escada fan, and I've been collecting this line for years and year. In general, all their fragrances have the same fruity summery scent... and this one has that scent as well; BUT it's a bit more unique!
Mango, nectarine, blood orange, raspberry, pomarose, coconut cream, sandalwood and musk?? Does it get any better than that???????

 • Givenchy - Play EDT
So this one came out not too long ago as well. It's a bit older than the Escada fragrance. This scent is very seductive and warm. Top notes include pink peppercorn and orange blossom. It's a very pretty, unique scent. I really enjoy it!

 • The Body Shop - Vanilla Body Lotion
I use to use this product way back when! I had forgotten all about it until someone gave it to me as a gift a few months ago! Our love affair rekindled. This body lotion is great! Does what it needs to do, and smells soft and subtle.

• Nailpolish!
[From left to right] Opening Night by Sephora by OPI, Metro Chic by Sephora by OPI, Sparkle-licious by OPI, Vanessa by ZOYA
I realized that although I have 348293489 different colours of polish, I kept reaching for these! Sparkle-licious is fairly new, but the other three, I used over and over and over again! Great colours, especially for the fall/winter.

• L'oréal Lineur Intense Liquid Eyeliner
My previous blog post is a review of this! I am in love with this liquid eyeliner! Simply amazing.

• Lanome Fresh Wear (foundation)
I never was a fan of foundation! I never use to wear liquid foundation... but then I discovered this baby! It's almost like a tinted moisturizer, but more pigmented. The formula is SO light, however coverage is great! When you have it on, it feels like nothing! Keeps the shine away all day too! The only issue with this sucker, is that it costs $45.00. Yeah. But I love it.

• ELF Kabuki Brush
This little kabuki brush is so cute, and works so well. It's extremely soft, and is great for all-over powder. And it's so little, you can take it with you easily. OH, and it was cheap! 5 bucks? Steal!

• Dior High Shine Lipstick (214 Nude Silhouette)
This was a big-time splurge for me! 30 some odd dollars for a lipstick? But it was one of those days... *sigh* Anywho, beside how pricey it was, it was phenomenal! Obviously, as you can tell, it's dunzo! I used it like no tomorrow. It was so creamy and light and the colour was just perfect for me. I loved this stuff!

• MAC blush - Tippy (From the Hello Kitty collection)
All I have to say, is a little goes a long way! This blush is so cute and so perfect when you need a pick-me-up boost of colour! Love it!

• Lancome Face & Eye creams
[left] Anti-Wrinkle - Firming cream
I use this around my eyes at night.
[right] Superior Lifting Cream
I use this all over my face and neck
Great products! I don't use them because I have wrinkles or a sagging skin, but I want to prevent all that, so it's good to start at a young age!

Liquid Eyeliner

Yay! Product reviews!

I was always terrified of liquid eyeliner! I wished I could use it, but every time I tried, I screwed up insanely. But after a lot of trial and error, I feel I have mastered the perfect solid black winged eyeliner effect! Now, I can't live without liquid eyeliner! The other day, I tried using my Mac Engraved Powerpoint Eye Pencil, and that was a fail. I only use that on my waterline now.

Ok, so the point of this post is to compare two products!

Product #1: L'oréal Paris Carbon Black Lineur Intense Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner
Colour: Carbon Black

Product #2: Maybelline New York Line Stiletto Ultimate Precision Liquid Eyeliner
Colour: Blackest Black

I have been using the L'oréal one for a couple years, and love it. I just recently discovered the Maybelline Stiletto one.

• Both products contain 1.5ml of liquid
• Both products have a felt tip applicator
• The wand on the L'oréal one is a little bit longer, making the application and precision more easy to control
• The felt tip applicator on the Maybelline one is a tiny bit thicker, which is not exactly a bad thing
• Both products are around the same price. I believe the L'oréal one may have been a dollar more. They are around $9.00 - $10.00 each (Canadian dollars)
• Both products are highly pigmented, and product a solid black line just with one application

• Left swatch = Maybelline
• Right swatch = L'oréal

Overal, I like both products, but because I'm so use to using the L'oréal one, I think I may just stick to that one in the future!

Slacking. . .

Okay, so I've kind of been slacking on doing blog posts frequently. I've also been slacking on my whole healthy eating thing. But one thing I haven't been slacking on is going to the gym! I've been pushing myself to go about 3-4 times a week!

Today was nice! Woke up early... went to brunch with Sharon at Cora's. It was delicious, but quite unhealthy! Oh well....errr...... (we got the same meal! spinach & cheese omelet!) Then we did a little bit of shopping! I also had to stop by the Durham Regional Police station to get a criminal record check thingie, AND last but not least, we got frozen yogurt! Oh man.

I haven't had much to balb about lately... so this is just a tiny little update. I'll post some recent pictures! They say more than words.

Peace & Love

All Hallows' Eve

Halloween was great! I had a nice small group of good friends over. Good company, great costumes, yummy foods! We did a best costume contest! My friend Tristan, who was dressed as a Mexican won! (sshhh, secretly I won, but  I'm not allowed to win my own prize!! LOL)

It was such a nice night! I love Halloween!

I spent many hours baking! My pride & joy were those cupcakes! They turned out super cute! I'm already excited to make winter cupcakes, Christmas cupcakes, etc!

Happy Halloween everyone!

Now it's time to get excited about Christmas!

Do do do do do

H A L L O W E E N  C A N D Y  I S  T E M P T I N G  M E

So in about a month I will do an update on my weight and measurements. I was going to keep a log of my diet & exercise, but I've decided not to. I will be eating much healthier than normally. I just don't want to track everything I eat, everyday. I'll keep a mental note and roughly calculate my calorie intake in my head :)

I went to the gym again after work! It sucks working until 6PM, and working 45 KM's away from home (which can take up to an hour to get home in traffic! Sometimes longer!) But nonetheless, I made it to the gym. Another downfall is going straight to the gym after work and not eating dinner at a proper time. I try to have a snack before I workout at least so I'm not starving, but sometimes a little snack does nothing to my hunger. But I have to do what I have to do! (for now!)

So Halloween is this weekend! I'm having some friends over this Saturday evening for a little All Hallow's Eve gathering. We're all dressing up, so that's going to be fun! I'm so eager to get baking Saturday afternoon! I hope this round of cupcakes come out even better! Practice makes perfect, right?

I have nothing interesting to talk about today, so I'm going to end it here.

Oh, and I was bored & curious; http://www.formspring.me/ooravish Ask away!
